Helio needed to reach patients managing diabetes and hypertension outside major cities — exactly the places where a video consult drops and a sync fails. Their previous vendor had shipped an app that assumed a stable connection and lost readings whenever one was missing.
Offline-first from the ground up: readings, symptom logs and medication adherence write locally and sync with explicit conflict resolution. Video consults degrade gracefully to audio, then to asynchronous voice notes, rather than failing. Bluetooth integration with glucometers and BP cuffs removes manual entry entirely.
Patient adherence to daily readings rose from 34% to 79%. Consults completed on a first attempt went from 61% to 93%, and Helio expanded the programme to four additional states on the strength of the retention data.
